Community First Bank Donates Needed Supplies To RCS

RCS would like to send a warm thank you to Community First Bank for a Winter Kit drive over the past month.

Over that time period, the community donated tons of warm socks, facial tissues, jackets, knitted sweaters and warm hats. These will be used by our most vulnerable community members to help survive as the temperatures dip.

An important tool in helping keep our vulnerable neighbors alive is simply to help them stay warm and dry. According to the National Health Care for the Homeless Council, homeless persons with a history of frostbite, immersion foot, or hypothermia have an eightfold risk of dying than national average.

In addition, the need is not just for those experiencing homelessness. For some families, the cost of a coat or other cold weather gear can cut into vital expenses, such as food, fuel and water.

Community efforts to address this issue can save lives and we express our profound gratitude to those who donated and helped organize this needed supply drive.
