Building Bridges: Mendocino County

On July 30th, the Building Bridges (B2) Homeless Resource Center had it’s open house...and the turn out was amazing! Community members and partnering agencies, along with county and city leadership, all joined RCS in officially opening this much needed day resource center.

Our resource center was immediately put to good use– allowing folks on the street to get showered, do laundry, participate in groups, connect to resources and connect with each other! Within the first month of opening there were over 1,500 visits to the resource center, over 750 showers taken, and over 400 loads of laundry washed.

Over the past The Building Bridges staff are working collaboratively with partnering agencies to ensure a robust variety of services and supports is available to consumers daily. Manzanita, MCAVHN, Project Sanctuary, Adventist Health, Legal Services of Northern California and Redwood Quality Management Company have all committed staff time to B2, offering clinics, check-ins, classes, and health navigation. Through our continued and committed dedication to service, we hope to see many of our counties unhoused regain stability and access support.

In addition to the newly opened resource center, RCS continues to provide Rapid Re-Housing, Homelessness Prevention, and Finding Home services through our Building Bridges program. We are working diligently and collaboratively to ensure the continued operation, and eventually year-round operation, of the Inland Winter Shelter.

If you or someone you know is looking to break through barriers to housing and achieve greater stability, please contact Building Bridges staff. We are open 7 days a week from 9am-6pm at 1045 S. State St., Ukiah, 707.234-3270.
